UCITS III Regulations
Important changes to Mellon Global Funds, Plc
Following recent updates to the investment regulations governing collective investment schemes, Mellon has made a number of changes to Mellon Global Funds, Plc (MGF), with effect as at 31 December 2005.

Since 31st December 2005, the Mellon Global Funds, Plc fund range operates within the investment regulations prescribed under the UCITS Directive. The UCITS III Directive is the successor directive to the old UCITS Directive.

In order to facilitate the Funds' migration to UCITS III and use the expanded investment powers allowed, a number of amendments to the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Company have been made. Please see the Shareholder Circulars in the Download Document Section for full details of these changes.

In general, investment objectives and policies of most of the Sub-Funds currently established within Mellon Global Funds, Plc remain unchanged as a result of the UCITS III conversion. However, following the regulatory approval of the Company's risk management statement and shareholder approval, we have amended the investment objective and policies of Mellon Global Bond Fund, Mellon Global High Yield Bond Fund, Mellon Sterling Bond Fund, Mellon Euroland Bond Fund and the Mellon Emerging Markets Debt Fund to enable each of the Sub-Funds to hold financial derivative instruments for investment purposes.

For more information on UCITS III, please see the Q&A Document under the Download Documents Section.
